A Message From Jacob’s Father

The Jacob Curby Foundation has been formed to honor the memory of my son, and has as its mission, teaching strong values through wrestling participation, growing youth participation in wrestling as a path to success and personal growth, and the advancement of Olympic-style international wrestling competition in the United States.

Before his sudden, tragic death, my son Jacob Curby had been working as hard as he could to attain the ultimate goals in Greco-Roman wrestling – becoming an Olympic and World Champion. Jake was taken from us too early and was unable to complete his quest, but he remains a champion in all our hearts. Several days after returning to the US, after wrestling in the Podubbny Tournament in Russia, Jake passed away while taking a nap after his afternoon practice.

The Curby Cup is the flagship event on The Jacob Curby Foundation calendar, showcasing the finest wrestlers from around the world in a competition with the American National Team. This showcase competition is part of a weekend-long event with youth wrestling clinics taught by top wrestlers and a star-studded awards dinner, an FCA breakfast on Sunday morning, all intended to inspire our youngsters and  improve the USA Wrestling program through top-tier competition.

May 11, 2013  will be the 4th annual Curby Cup, where the top international wrestlers will competee against the US National team in Chicago.

I ask you to donate to The Jacob Curby Foundation with a tax-deductible contribution today.

Thank you,

Dr. David Curby
